Job Description:
As a VP of Product reporting to the CEO, you will lead the execution of the product vision, strategy, and prioritization of the Curae Patient Financial Access platform. This includes defining the product roadmap, ensuring alignment with market needs and sales pipeline, managing product teams, and collaborating with key internal and external stakeholders. The VP of Product will synthesize and drive innovation, prioritize features, ensure that products meet regulatory standards, and support healthcare organizations in improving cash and lowering bad debt expenses. Key Responsibilities:
Product Strategy and Vision:
- Define and articulate a clear product vision and strategy in alignment with company goals and the evolving healthcare IT landscape.
- Lead the creation and execution of a product roadmap that prioritizes features based on market needs, customer feedback, and competitive analysis.
- Drive innovation by researching and identifying emerging technologies, trends, and regulatory changes impacting healthcare IT.
Product Development and Lifecycle Management:
- Oversee the entire product development lifecycle, from ideation and design to deployment and ongoing iteration.
- Ensure the products are scalable, secure, and compliant with healthcare regulations (e.g., HIPAA, HITRUST, FDA requirements).
- Manage and mentor the product management team, guiding them through the development, testing, and launch phases.
- Define key performance indicators (KPIs) for product performance and success, ensuring they align with business objectives and healthcare industry standards.
Cross-functional Collaboration:
- Work closely with engineering, design, marketing, sales, and customer success teams to ensure products meet customer needs and deliver value.
- Partner with stakeholders such as revenue cycle leadership and team members, healthcare providers, and patients to gain insights into product development requirements and market opportunities.
- Align product development efforts with the business development team to create go-to-market strategies and ensure a smooth product launch.
Customer and Market Focus:
- Leverage customer feedback, market research, and data analytics to continuously improve product offerings and ensure they solve real-world problems for healthcare organizations.
- Identify and address the unique challenges of healthcare IT, including user experience (UX) in clinical environments, data interoperability, and privacy/security concerns.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients and stakeholders, providing them with regular product updates and gathering feedback to refine the product.
Regulatory and Compliance Management:
- Ensure all products meet healthcare regulatory and compliance standards, including HIPAA, PCI, and other relevant local or international standards.
- Work with legal, security, and compliance teams to ensure products are developed and marketed in line with regulations, including data privacy and cybersecurity.
Team Leadership and Management:
- Lead, mentor, and grow the product management team, ensuring alignment with the company’s goals and fostering a culture of innovation, accountability, and collaboration.
- Provide coaching and development opportunities for product managers and other team members.
- Drive a culture of continuous improvement in the product development process.
- Financial and Budget Management:
- Develop and manage the product budget, ensuring resources are allocated efficiently to meet product milestones.
- Drive cost-effective strategies for product development and delivery while maintaining high quality and compliance standards.
Stakeholder Communication and Reporting:
- Regularly report on product performance, KPIs, milestones, and upcoming initiatives to the executive team and board.
- Serve as the primary product expert for the organization, ensuring alignment between product development and strategic business goals.
Competitive Analysis and Market Positioning:
- Conduct ongoing analysis of competitors, industry trends, and customer needs to maintain a competitive edge in the healthcare IT space.
- Ensure the company’s products are positioned effectively in the market, differentiating them based on value, innovation, and customer success.
Qualifications:
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Healthcare IT, or a related field (required).
- An MBA or advanced degree in a related field is a plus.
Experience:
- 10+ years of experience in product management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role within healthcare IT, health tech, or a related industry.
- Proven track record of successfully launching and scaling healthcare products or IT solutions, with deep knowledge of healthcare regulations and standards.
- Strong background in agile product development methodologies and experience managing cross-functional teams.
